About

Italian Trainer helps you learn Italian verb meanings and conjugations through spaced practice. Everything works offline once the app has loaded. No account, no ads, and no cloud sync — progress stays on your device unless you choose to export a backup.

Navigation: Practice · Lesson plan · Browse · Progress

Each verb moves through six stages: Introduce, Meaning, Presente, Passato Prossimo, Imperfetto, and Futuro Semplice.

Feature tour

Getting started

  1. On the Lesson plan tab, create a lesson plan and add verbs.
  2. Create a practice session that includes one or more lesson plans.
  3. On the Practice tab, tap the session chip and choose that session — or All verbs.
  4. Practice with flashcards; check Progress to see how that session is going.

Practice

The chip at the top shows the active practice session (or All verbs). Tap a stage pill to focus on one stage, or leave it unset for automatic selection. Introduce shows the infinitive and English meaning. On Meaning and conjugation cards, tap to reveal the answer, then mark Correct or Incorrect. Progress is tracked separately for each practice session — switching sessions does not mix scores.

Prompt direction

Choose Italian → English or English → Italian under Settings. Conjugation cards can show a short English hint when practicing English → Italian. With English → Italian, auto-play pronunciation can speak the Italian when you reveal it.

Lesson plan

Follow this order: create lesson plans → build practice sessions → pick a session on Practice. Import a list of infinitives, reorder introduce priority, and optionally save a session as a new lesson plan. Deleting a session also removes that session’s practice progress.

Browse

Search by infinitive or English; filter by regular/irregular or group (-are, -ere, -ire). Tap a verb for conjugation tables and session progress. Use Review on a conjugation table to practice that tense. Add your own verb with auto-filled regular forms — edit by hand for irregulars, including the -isc- present for verbs like capisco.

Progress & settings

Stats reflect the active practice session. Configure pass requirements, conjugation card mode (one form or all six), daily reminder, and auto-play pronunciation. Share backup, save to device, or import a backup from Settings.

Audio

Pronunciation uses your device’s text-to-speech engine. Tap the speaker icon, or turn on auto-play in Settings. Install an Italian voice in system settings if needed (Android: Text-to-speech → Italian; iOS: Spoken Content → Voices → Italian).
