Privacy Policy — Italian Trainer

Summary

• Italian Trainer works offline after the app has loaded. Core features do not require an account or an internet connection.
• Your learning data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share a backup.
• We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
• We do not collect personal information from you through the App’s normal operation.

Overview

PNative Apps (“we”, “us”) publishes Italian Trainer (the “App”), com.pnativeapps.italiantrainer, an offline-first app for learning Italian verb meanings and conjugations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how that information is stored, and what choices you have. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.

Information the App stores on your device

All data below is created by you while using the App. It is stored locally on your phone or tablet in the App’s private storage (Hive / local storage). We do not receive this data on our servers.

Learning progress and practice data

When you practice, the App may store:

• Per-verb and per-stage progress, attempts, and accuracy
• Progress scoped separately to each practice session (and to All verbs)
• Lesson plans, practice sessions, and learning-order preferences
• Custom verbs you create (infinitive, meaning, conjugations, settings)
• Current practice card / session state

App settings and preferences

The App also stores preferences on your device, such as prompt direction, pass requirements, conjugation practice mode, theme, auto-play pronunciation, and daily reminder time (if enabled).

Backup and restore

If you use Share backup or Save backup to device, the App creates a file containing your progress (all practice sessions), settings, custom verbs, and practice state. That file is written to a location you choose or shared through your device’s share sheet. We do not upload backup files to PNative Apps servers. Import backup replaces your current local data from a file you select.

Optional notifications

If you enable a daily practice reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device. Notification permission is requested only when you turn this feature on. Reminders can be turned off in Settings. Reminder scheduling uses standard platform APIs (including rescheduling after reboot). Notification content does not include your learning progress details beyond a simple reminder to practice.

Text-to-speech (pronunciation)

Pronunciation uses your device’s operating-system text-to-speech engine (for example, Google or Apple TTS). Spoken audio is processed by the OS / TTS provider on your device according to their policies — not by PNative Apps servers. We do not receive recordings of what is spoken.

Information we do not collect

When you use the App in its normal, offline mode, we do not:

• Require you to create an account or sign in
• Collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location
• Run advertising or behavioral analytics in the App
• Upload your learning progress or custom verbs to PNative Apps servers

The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs in its current release.

How you may share information

You control when data leaves your device:

• Share / Save backup — you create a backup file and choose where it goes.
• Import backup — you open a backup file for restore; we do not upload it.
• External links — tapping links to our website, privacy policy, support, or an optional “Support the app” / donation page opens them in your system browser over HTTPS. We do not pass your learning data in those URLs.

Internet access and third parties

The App is designed to function without network access for practice, progress, browse, and settings after it has loaded. Limited network-related behavior: external links you tap, app store policies if you download from Google Play, and standard OS diagnostics independent of the App. Device TTS may use OS-provided language packs you install.

Data retention and deletion

Data on your device remains until you reset progress for a session, delete lesson plans or sessions in the App, clear app data in system settings, or uninstall the App. Backups you created remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files. We do not retain your learning data on our servers through normal App use. See also our Data & Account Deletion page.

Children’s privacy

The App is a general-purpose education utility. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data sources

Bundled verb conjugation data is derived from ian-hamlin/verb-data / Wiktionary, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. This is curriculum content shipped with the App, not personal data about you.

Security

We use standard platform storage for local files and preferences. You are responsible for securing your device and any backup files you create or share.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
